Good With Food?
I remembered to go to the library and they accepted my book deposited in their letter box as returned in time, so that’s alright.
I also went to the Co-op thinking that they might have some reduced food items but lots of others had the same idea and it was as busy as I’ve ever seen it. There were trollies piled high with reduced price vegetables and I started stocking up and had to go back for a trolley instead of my usual hand basket. Apart from a chicken and some smoked haddock, bread and spuds, almost everything else was 20p or 10p: pineapple & cauliflower both 20p; avocados 10p; baby corn 20p. Nothing wrong with any of it, just victims of the sell by date. I’ll be alright for veg for some days and my diet will be healthy too.
Back home I had to dispose of M the lodger’s remaining fridge food to make some space for the chicken. I found several packets of Scotch Eggs, including one at the back dated 9th November, six weeks old. Yum!
So, “Good with Food”? Probably, like most households, it’s a mixed story.
My cheapie toaster won’t “stay down” by itself anymore so I decided to take it apart to fix it but it’s been made with special screws to make it difficult. Will that stop me? No, but lethargy might, which would still be a victory for them.

Wow! You did go to the Co-op at the right time, didn’t you. What a great ‘find’! I could play ‘Ready Steady Cook’ with a list like that! Sounds lovely.
I wonder if you’ve mended your toaster yet. I’m sure you have the right tools not too far away in one of the boxes you mentioned here in ‘Tools for the Job’
“I’ve got lots of tools, for all sorts of types of job. I use a lot of small delicate ones for my electronic work and lots of others for painting and decorating, plumbing, spanners etc for jobs on cars plus all the garden ones which are always kept in the shed.”
You’ll miss your toast if you don’t mend the toaster won’t you, because you won’t be able to have your lovely home made marmalade on it.
