Ship of Fools “The magazine of Christian unrest” but don’t be put off by the word Christian; there’s lots non-Christians there too and plenty of opportunities to argue with and poke fun at the more stupid bits of religious practice. Anyone who tries to win an argument with a triumphant “because the bible says so” is rightly mocked without mercy. The fruitcake zone and Gadgets for God are both repositories full of examples of self-righteous stupidity and ludicrous self-belief in their own understanding of God’s ways. The forums are the best I’ve seen anywhere.

Singida Non-tourist views of an ordinary African town. No hunger, no extreme poverty, just people getting on with their lives. There is a particular emphasis on water and wells in rural villages, as I was engaged in a survey of failed hand pumps in the area.
